About This Opportunity

We are representing a deep-tech organization at the forefront of AI-driven simulation for advanced engineering and manufacturing. Our client works with leading innovators across aerospace, defense, materials, energy, semiconductors, and automotive sectors.

This Data Scientist role is based in London (hybrid, 2-3 days per week in a central office) and sits within the Delivery function. You'll transform cutting-edge AI models into practical tools that enable engineers to make better decisions, working directly with customers—often on-site—to build solutions that solve real physics and engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-process and analyze complex engineering data to prepare it for predictive modeling and machine learning applications
  • Develop and deploy deep learning models combined with optimization methods to predict and control physical system behavior
  • Design, build, and test scalable data pipelines that are production-ready and reliable
  • Collaborate closely with simulation engineers and machine learning engineers to ensure seamless integration of data science models
  • Take full ownership of the quality, accuracy, and impact of your work streams
  • Contribute to internal R&D and product development, refining models and identifying new application areas
  • Engage with customers through presentations, onboarding sessions, and co-development work
  • Travel to customer sites across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania (averaging 3-4 weeks per quarter) to build solutions on-site

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a quantitative field with at least 1 year of post-degree industry experience in a commercial, non-research environment
  • Strong foundations in data-driven modeling and deep learning techniques, with hands-on experience in probabilistic methods and predictive modeling
  • Expertise in Python and proficiency with NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, and PyTorch
  • Proven ability to deploy scalable, production-ready models and data pipelines
  • Capacity to grasp advanced engineering concepts across multiple industries
  • Problem-solving mindset with a passion for creating practical, impactful solutions
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with both technical teams and customers
  • Natural inclination to take ownership and continuously improve systems and solutions
  • Willingness to travel internationally for customer engagement
