IT-Servicetechniker Systemadministrator (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking an IT Service Technician / System Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of complex hardware and software solutions as well as virtual platforms—both in the office and directly at customer sites. You will ensure documentation of all work and handle troubleshooting and on-site maintenance appointments.

• Perform 2nd level support in direct customer contact
• Conduct functional and performance testing
• Diagnose, analyze, and resolve issues for hardware, software, and network components, including virtualized environments
• Provide technical support to customers on-site
• Work on solutions in high-security data center environments
• Contribute ideas to development teams based on practical experience
• Maintain responsibility for reference and test systems
• Document incidents, solutions, and IT processes
• Participate in on-call duty rotation
• Perform factory and on-site system acceptance testing

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering) or equivalent technical training with relevant professional experience in service roles
• Strong knowledge and proficiency with Unix-based operating systems such as Red Hat, Rocky Linux, CentOS, or AIX
• Solid understanding of network technology, network storage, network security, and network protocol analysis
• In-depth knowledge of standardized transmission techniques and protocols in modern telecommunications and data networks
• Experience with NetApp (advantageous)
• Windows Server 2019 or newer (advantageous)
• Familiarity with PVE, VMware, and/or Citrix (advantageous)
• Database knowledge (SQL and/or Oracle) desirable
• Customer- and service-oriented mindset
• Structured, careful, and independent working style
• Willingness for continuous professional development
• Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
• Valid driver's license (Class B)
• Flexibility and willingness to travel
