Human Data Program Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company in their search for a Human Data Program Manager in London. Our client works with leading organizations to deliver specialized data projects across domains including medical imaging, robotics, and frontier AI applications. This is a hands-on role where you will own the delivery of high-stakes data annotation programs from end to end.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery of complex data projects end to end, including throughput, quality standards, and timeline commitments
• Translate machine learning requirements into clear annotation workflows and operational processes that produce the data research teams need
• Become the deepest expert on your project's annotation standards and resolve ambiguity and edge cases as they arise
• Design and maintain quality through process refinement, auditing, and structured feedback loops
• Train and develop annotation teams, building training materials and providing ongoing coaching to improve performance as work complexity increases
• Measure annotator performance and make data-driven decisions about team composition, retraining needs, and project assignments
• Manage task allocation and project queues to meet both throughput and quality targets simultaneously
• Establish quality metrics and measurement systems at project launch, including acceptance criteria and sampling plans
• Produce delivery reporting and surface risks early enough to implement solutions
• Partner with technical teams on process and tooling improvements, feeding insights back into operational playbooks

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 3–7 years of professional experience combining operational delivery with analytical work in AI data operations, annotation operations, strategy consulting, or data and operations roles at technology companies
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of complex, multi-stakeholder workflows with accountability for outcomes
• Working proficiency in Python or SQL
• Direct experience managing, coaching, or performance-managing a distributed workforce
• Track record of maintaining both quality and throughput simultaneously, with measurable results
• Experience translating detailed technical specifications into actionable instructions for execution teams

• Detail-oriented approach: you read specifications thoroughly and test workflows yourself before delegation
• Execution-focused: measured by delivery, not planning, with a bias toward fixing workflows rather than documenting problems
• Analytically rigorous: you work in metrics (throughput, quality rate, utilization) and understand trade-offs
• Technically fluent enough to collaborate with ML teams and extract your own data
• Comfortable making evidence-based people decisions and having difficult conversations when needed
• Highly organized under pressure, managing multiple projects across time zones with changing requirements
• Clear written and cross-functional communication skills for coordinating distributed teams
• Entrepreneurial mindset: you re-plan when dates are at risk and create processes where none exist
• Genuine interest in AI and understanding what the data you produce enables

Bonus experience:

• Direct experience with annotation, evaluation, or model-training workflows
