About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential motorsport organization seeking an experienced Aero Software Developer to join their high-performance engineering team in Bicester, United Kingdom. Our client operates at the cutting edge of competitive racing, where aerodynamic efficiency and data-driven decision-making are critical to success.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside engineers and data scientists developing sophisticated software tools for aerodynamic analysis and visualization. You'll be instrumental in creating the applications and workflows that help elite racing engineers interpret complex CFD data and make performance-critical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, create, and improve software applications for efficient aerodynamic analysis and data visualization
• Design and implement desktop and web applications to present data from multiple sources, with particular focus on CFD data
• Contribute to the redesign and optimization of backend systems used to process and serve CFD data
• Design and implement efficient workflows for CFD post-processing
• Collaborate closely with aerodynamic engineers to improve comprehension of complex engineering data
• Design and produce high-performance data access tools and APIs for integration with existing systems
• Handle full software lifecycle: design, code, test, release, and maintenance of data analysis applications
• Optimize user interface presentation and interaction patterns for engineering data from diverse sources
• Stay current with latest advancements in software design and data science methodologies

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience
• Proven programming skills with strong knowledge of Python and JavaScript
• Experience with data organization and repository creation using appropriate database and file technologies
• Demonstrated experience working on complex projects
• Familiarity with Linux environments
• Strong knowledge of PyQt technology and deployment to Windows/Linux operating systems
• Strong knowledge of web technologies (Django is an advantage)
• Familiarity with VTK, ParaView, and/or PyVista
• Understanding of software release, update, and deployment techniques
• Knowledge of containerized development and deployment
• Fluent in English

Preferred Experience:

• Scientific data visualization, especially 3D data
• Containerized deployment on Kubernetes
• HPC (High-Performance Computing) environments
• Data science techniques and methodologies
