Head of IT Operations Vessels – (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential maritime organization seeking a Head of IT Operations Vessels to lead technical infrastructure across a fleet environment. In this role, you will:

• Lead a three-person team in Flensburg and manage resource planning for operational IT support
• Ensure stable IT operations across vessels, ports, and point-of-sale locations
• Oversee critical IT services including WLAN, 5G, POS systems, camera systems, and passenger information displays
• Develop group-wide standards and reusable solutions for maritime IT infrastructure
• Focus on coordination, organization, and process security while providing hands-on support when needed
• Collaborate closely with IT leadership on interfaces between vessel IT, cloud, and onshore infrastructure

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in IT infrastructure within a maritime or vessel-related environment
• Strong expertise in network and connectivity technologies including WLAN, 5G, satellite communications, and antenna systems
• Leadership experience is advantageous but not required; responsibility, communication skills, and ability to coordinate technical deployments and team members are essential
• Organizational talent, solution-oriented mindset, and pragmatic hands-on approach
• Fluent English and very good German language skills
• High willingness to travel (primarily domestic) and flexibility for occasional work outside regular hours
