About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Java Developer to join their backend engineering team. This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the world, with a preference for those in time zones within one hour of CET to facilitate daily collaboration.
Our client is looking for someone who thinks strategically, takes ownership, and thrives on building scalable, secure payment infrastructure. You'll work directly with the CTO and a small, focused team of developers and testers on the core platform—delivering real impact in a fast-moving industry.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve backend services for a financial technology platform, with a focus on architecture, data processing, security, and system stability
- Optimize platform performance and scalability while maintaining clean, reusable, and testable code
- Provide technical support for integration projects with software partners, banks, and enterprise clients
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to streamline processes and deliver innovative technical solutions
- Participate in daily stand-ups and knowledge-sharing sessions with a distributed team
- Explore and implement AI-driven integrations to enhance user experiences and development efficiency
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrable experience with Java, Go, and the Spring framework
- Deep understanding of databases—not just usage, but how they function and how to optimize them
- Experience with API integrations, web services, and Linux environments
- Familiarity with AI tools for building integrations; experience with data analytics is a plus
- Pro-active, self-starting mindset with a curiosity for learning new technologies and frameworks
- Strong commitment to security, stability, and reliability in software systems
- Excellent English communication skills; other European languages are an asset
- Ability to work independently in a small, collaborative team environment
- Located in a time zone within one hour of CET for real-time collaboration during core working hours
