We are representing a leading global economic consulting firm seeking exceptional 2027 bachelor's graduates for an Analyst position within their European Competition practice in London. Our client specialises in providing economic advice on competition policy and regulation matters, working with major law firms, corporations, and governmental bodies across Europe.

This entry-level role offers immediate exposure to high-profile competition cases spanning mergers and acquisitions, abuse of dominance allegations, cartels, market investigations, and regulatory matters across diverse sectors. You'll work alongside senior consultants and industry experts on matters that shape European competition policy, including recent antitrust investigations in the technology sector.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential issues and conduct analyses to illustrate economic arguments in competition cases
• Assemble compelling evidence from data and research to support expert opinions and business recommendations
• Program, build models, and perform regression analyses using statistical software including Stata, Python, and R, including large-scale data projects requiring cloud computing
• Assist in developing and presenting client deliverables, including expert reports and white papers summarising conclusions and recommendations
• Communicate complex economic concepts to non-experts in an accessible, understandable manner
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of all analyses and opinions
• Participate in practice-building activities including training, recruiting, and expertise sharing

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree (BSc/BA) in economics from a well-regarded institution, graduating between December 2026 and August 2027
• Strong foundation in microeconomics; specialisation in industrial economics preferred
• High degree of numeracy and comfort with data manipulation (essential); familiarity with econometric techniques (desirable)
• Curious and analytical thinkers who bring creative approaches to non-standard problems
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Eagerness to learn new programming languages and technical skills
• Demonstrated initiative and leadership capabilities
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Additional Details: This position is ideal for candidates considering postgraduate study who would benefit from 1-2 years of employment experience in economic consulting.
