Gafsgi is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead and develop technical teams in our Baltimore, MD office. This is a full-time position where you'll build, mentor, and scale engineering talent while driving delivery of mission-critical projects.
About This Position
We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join Gafsgi in Baltimore, Maryland. In this leadership role, you'll oversee engineering teams, own project delivery, and shape the technical direction of key initiatives. This is a hands-on management position that values both strategic vision and practical problem-solving. You'll report directly to senior leadership and collaborate across product, operations, and other functions to ensure engineering excellence.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering growth through feedback, coaching, and career development
- Plan sprints and manage project timelines to meet business objectives and delivery deadlines
- Conduct code reviews, technical interviews, and hiring to build and strengthen the team
- Collaborate with product and stakeholder teams to define requirements and scope technical work
- Monitor team health, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements
- Contribute technical expertise to architectural decisions and technical strategy
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in a leadership or management role
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and retain strong engineering teams
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across engineering, product, and business teams
- Solid technical foundation and ability to evaluate engineering work
- Experience with agile methodologies and project planning
- Based in or willing to relocate to Baltimore, MD for full-time, in-office work
