Engineer (Full Stack, AI Company)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential biometric verification company in their search for a Full Stack Engineer. Our client is building privacy-focused identity verification technology in a space where trust and security are paramount. This is an early-stage environment where you'll work directly with founders to build core platform capabilities from the ground up.

This role requires someone who can ship production code across the full stack, has strong judgment around AI-assisted development, and thrives in fast-moving, pre-PMF environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs that power verification systems at scale
• Build frontend experiences and integrate them cleanly with backend infrastructure
• Ship scalable, secure, cloud-based solutions across the full technology stack
• Work directly with product leadership and founding team to rapidly turn concepts into shipped features
• Optimize, troubleshoot, and harden production code as the platform evolves
• Use AI coding tools daily while maintaining critical judgment on code quality and security implications

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 3+ years of production software development experience as a full stack or backend engineer
• Strong foundation in software development, object-oriented programming, database design, and API development
• Proficiency in Go and TypeScript (backend in Go, web stack in React/Next.js)
• Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted development tools, with clear judgment on when to trust AI-generated code and when to critically review or rebuild
• Experience building scalable, cloud-based applications (AWS or GCP)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in collaborative, early-stage environments
• Must be based in the United States and authorized to work without visa sponsorship

Preferred:

• Python experience
• Background in biometrics, privacy-sensitive systems, or security-critical applications
• Track record shipping products from zero to one without established playbooks
• Hands-on experience with agentic or autonomous coding tools beyond standard assistants
• Familiarity with identity verification, digital trust, or related product categories
• Location in San Francisco, New York City, or Miami (remote role, but proximity to these hubs preferred)

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $120,000 – $200,000 per year, plus equity (0.0% – 0.5%).

Remote work available. This is a full-time position. Relocation assistance is not available, and visa sponsorship is not offered.
