About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential gaming technology organization seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their team in Berlin. Our client is at the forefront of cloud gaming infrastructure, delivering high-performance gaming experiences at massive scale. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical production systems that directly impact millions of users worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discussions focused on reliability and scalability improvements across production systems
- Participate in creating High Level Designs (HLDs) for new products and platform features
- Mentor junior SRE team members and support their professional development
- Lead incident response activities and facilitate post-mortem processes within your service team
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to prioritize reliability improvements and address technical debt
- Contribute production code focused on improving system reliability and stability
- Design and implement automation solutions to reduce operational toil
- Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 service availability
What We're Looking For
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in Software Development and/or Linux Systems Administration
- Proven track record as a Linux Production Systems Engineer managing large-scale web services infrastructure
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Availability for scheduled on-call rotation
Technical Skills:
- Development proficiency in Python (preferred) or one or more of: Bash, Go, Java, C++, or Rust
- Hands-on experience with at least 3 of the following:
- Distributed data storage at scale (Hadoop, Ceph)
- NoSQL databases at scale (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra)
- Data aggregation technologies (ElasticSearch, Kafka)
- Scaling traditional RDBMS with High Availability (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Monitoring and alerting platforms (Prometheus, Grafana) and incident management tools
- Kubernetes and/or AWS deployment and management
- Software distribution and package management at scale
- Configuration management tools (Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef)
- Software performance analysis and load testing
