Director of Finance

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential high-growth technology company in Berlin that is seeking a Director of Finance to accelerate strategic initiatives across FP&A, capital markets, and M&A execution. This is a highly hands-on role for a finance leader who can move seamlessly between strategic planning, complex financial modeling, investor communications, and deal execution.

Our client operates in a fast-paced environment where intensity and ownership are highly valued. You'll partner directly with leadership to evaluate build-vs-buy opportunities, optimize capital structure, and drive decision-grade analysis across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of corporate finance strategy, operational FP&A, and transaction execution.

Responsibilities

• Drive corporate finance and strategic initiatives by connecting financial analysis to business strategy and operational priorities
• Lead FP&A activities including building and maintaining high-quality financial models, budget frameworks, scenario plans, and benchmarking metrics
• Support capital markets and external financing workstreams, preparing materials, financial narratives, and valuation analyses for investor discussions
• Execute M&A process from opportunity evaluation and diligence through financial impact analysis, valuation frameworks, and internal recommendations
• Establish repeatable, scalable frameworks for transaction diligence, financial forecasting, and strategic evaluation
• Build models and presentation decks directly while independently driving complex strategic workstreams forward

What We're Looking For

• Strong foundation across corporate finance, FP&A, capital markets, valuation, and M&A within high-growth environments
• Background in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, or strategic finance at a fast-paced operating company
• Proven track record of independently building robust, dynamic financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses from scratch
• Ability to evaluate operational realities through a financial lens and distill findings into actionable strategic guidance
• Executive-level communication skills to translate complex financial concepts into concise recommendations for leadership, board members, and investors
• High ownership mindset with eagerness to dive deep into details and push initiatives over the finish line
• Comfort in a broad, high-impact role where no two days look identical
• Preference for building systems, models, and capabilities from the ground up
• Willingness to work in-office five days per week in Berlin
