(Senior) Consultant* – Securities & Custody Operations

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading financial services consultancy with a strong Capital Markets practice in Germany. Our client is seeking a Senior Consultant to join their Securities & Custody Operations team, working with major financial institutions to transform and optimize their post-trade operations.

This is a hybrid role based in Frankfurt or Munich, offering the opportunity to work on high-impact transformation initiatives across the securities lifecycle. You'll collaborate with global custodians, investment banks, asset managers, and market infrastructure providers to solve complex operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Support transformation initiatives in Securities, Custody, and Post-Trade Operations from requirements analysis through implementation
• Analyze existing operating models, processes, and controls to identify opportunities for simplification, optimization, and efficiency improvements
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business, operations, and technology teams to define requirements and translate them into practical solutions
• Apply your knowledge of securities processes—including trade lifecycle, settlement, asset servicing, and custody operations—to address complex client challenges
• Drive project execution through workshops, analysis, documentation, stakeholder management, and implementation support
• Design and optimize operating models for capital markets operations in complex financial services organizations

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Relevant consulting or financial services experience in Securities, Custody, Post-Trade, or Capital Markets Operations
• Strong knowledge of the securities lifecycle and operational processes such as settlement, custody, asset servicing, and/or corporate actions
• Experience in business transformation, process optimization, operating model design, or change initiatives within financial services
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach to working with business and technology teams
• Fluency in German and English

Preferred experience:

• Background with global custodians, investment banks, asset managers, market infrastructures, or securities services providers
• Knowledge of regulatory and industry developments in the securities and post-trade environment
• Experience with securities platforms, custody systems, or post-trade technologies
• Track record of implementing change in complex financial services organizations
• Understanding of current trends shaping capital markets operations
