Responsibilities
Our talent team is representing a confidential logistics organization in München, Bavaria, seeking a Team Leader for Last Mile Operations. In this role, you will oversee a distribution hub where pre-sorted goods arrive and are dispatched for final delivery to customers.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, and coach your team to success. Plan team-building events to strengthen collaboration and morale.
- People Development: Manage shift schedules, onboard new drivers, and provide ongoing development to ensure smooth operations at the hub.
- Delivery Management: Take ownership when delivery trucks arrive with fresh goods. Ensure everything is accounted for and quickly organize supplemental deliveries when needed.
- Process Management: Keep operations running efficiently by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring safety-first practices are always followed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with customer success teams, the central warehouse, and other hubs to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- On-Time Dispatch: Ensure drivers depart on schedule to meet promised delivery windows for customers.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for electric vehicle maintenance coordination, hub layout optimization, driver recruitment, and logistics process enhancements.
What We're Looking For
- Completed degree or apprenticeship in logistics, retail, or a related field
- Previous experience leading teams, either professionally or in coaching/mentoring capacities
- Fluent German and basic English language skills
- Valid Class B driver's license
- Strong communication skills and confident presence
- Data-driven decision-making approach using metrics and facts
