About the Role
As Contract & Grant Coordinator for the Biology department, you will serve as a key administrative partner to faculty researchers, helping them navigate the full lifecycle of grant proposals, contracts, and awarded funding. Working closely with the Office of Research Support and departmental leadership, you'll ensure compliance with funder requirements, maintain accurate records, and support timely submission of proposals. This hybrid position combines in-person collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely, allowing you to manage both direct coordination with researchers and focused administrative work from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist faculty researchers in developing and submitting grant proposals, including pre-award support, budget preparation, and funder correspondence
- Manage grant and contract documentation, tracking deadlines, compliance requirements, and regulatory submissions
- Coordinate with the Office of Research Support, finance, and external funding agencies to ensure seamless grant administration
- Maintain detailed records of all active grants and contracts, including budget status and reporting deadlines
- Support post-award grant management, including expense tracking, progress reporting, and close-out procedures
- Communicate with faculty, department leadership, and funding agencies to resolve issues and facilitate timely grant execution
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in grant administration, research administration, or related field
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced research environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems; experience with grants management software a plus
- Knowledge of federal grant requirements and compliance regulations preferred
- Genuine interest in supporting academic research and faculty success
