The Opportunity
We seek an experienced Research Nurse Coordinator to support our Gastroenterology research programs focused on inflammatory bowel disease. You'll work alongside leading gastroenterologists and research physicians at Washington University Medical Campus, helping to drive innovation in IBD treatment and patient outcomes. This role combines clinical nursing expertise with research protocol management in a collaborative, evidence-based environment.
What You'll Do
- Recruit, enroll, and manage study participants for gastroenterology and IBD clinical research protocols
- Conduct patient assessments, informed consent discussions, and baseline evaluations according to protocol specifications
- Monitor participant safety and adherence to study procedures; escalate concerns to the research team promptly
- Collect, document, and maintain accurate clinical data and research records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Coordinate scheduling, follow-up visits, and communication between research participants and study staff
- Provide patient education regarding study procedures, IBD management, and research participation
- Support protocol implementation and troubleshoot operational challenges with the research team
Who We're Looking For
- Current RN licensure (Missouri or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in gastroenterology, internal medicine, or ambulatory care
- Prior research coordination or clinical trial experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple studies simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication for patient interactions and documentation
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, data integrity, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary research and clinical teams
