Role Overview
As Research Technician II in Otolaryngology, you'll serve as a vital member of our research team, providing technical expertise and administrative coordination for clinical and laboratory investigations. Working within Wustl's respected otolaryngology department, you'll manage protocols, coordinate research activities, and ensure the highest standards of data integrity and patient safety across multiple studies and projects.
What You'll Do
- Perform technical and administrative duties to support otolaryngology research protocols and clinical trials
- Recruit, screen, and coordinate study participants, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards
- Maintain detailed research records, manage study databases, and ensure accurate data collection and documentation
- Assist with laboratory and clinical procedures specific to otolaryngological research
- Coordinate with researchers, clinicians, and regulatory personnel to ensure smooth study operations
- Monitor research budgets and inventory for assigned projects
- Troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvement of research processes
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, biology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in research settings
- Demonstrated experience as a research technician or in a similar research support role
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in managing complex protocols
- Proficiency with electronic data capture systems and research databases
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance (IRB, HIPAA) and Good Clinical Practice standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy
