As a Patient Billing/Services Representative III for the occupational therapy program, you'll serve as the critical bridge between patients, insurance companies, and our medical center's financial operations. This full-time position requires attention to detail and customer service excellence as you ensure patients receive clear billing guidance and support navigating their healthcare costs at Washington University Medical Campus.

What You'll Do

  • Manage patient billing inquiries, resolving account questions and discrepancies promptly
  • Process and track insurance claims, following up with carriers as needed
  • Explain billing statements and payment options to patients in clear, accessible language
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance
  • Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts using our medical billing system
  • Coordinate with insurance providers to collect authorizations and verify coverage
  • Follow up on outstanding balances and assist patients with payment arrangements
  • Support the occupational therapy program's administrative and billing operations

Who We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Proven experience in medical billing, healthcare administration, or patient services
  • Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
