Role Overview

As a Billing/Scheduling Associate II in our neurology department, you are the operational backbone of our clinic. You'll manage multiple systems simultaneously, coordinating patient appointments and insurance verifications to keep our practice running smoothly. Your work ensures patients receive timely care and that billing processes are accurate and compliant, directly impacting both patient satisfaction and practice sustainability.

What You'll Do

  • Schedule and manage patient appointments across multiple providers, resolving conflicts and accommodating urgent cases
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to visits; submit authorizations and prior approvals as required
  • Process billing claims, post payments, and reconcile patient accounts with attention to coding accuracy
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, billing, and insurance matters with professionalism and empathy
  • Coordinate with insurance companies and resolve claim denials or payment discrepancies
  • Document all interactions in the electronic health record and maintain confidential patient information
  • Assist with month-end billing audits and support revenue cycle reporting

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing, scheduling, or revenue cycle roles
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software systems
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing processes, insurance verification, and coding fundamentals
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with patients and clinical staff
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in billing and scheduling tasks
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
  • High school diploma or equivalent; medical billing certification (AAPC, AHIMA, or equivalent) preferred
