Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit marketing communications materials including web content, email campaigns, social media posts, newsletters, and promotional copy
- Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, events, and special initiatives that promote WSU programs and institutional priorities
- Manage social media channels, monitor engagement, and create content calendars aligned with institutional messaging
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and department leaders to gather information and translate complex academic concepts into compelling public-facing communications
- Maintain brand consistency across all communications platforms and channels
- Research and monitor industry communications trends, competitor messaging, and audience preferences to inform strategy
- Support event promotion, registration coordination, and post-event communications
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related field
- Three or more years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences
- Proficiency with marketing and communications platforms, content management systems, and social media tools
- Strong project management abilities with capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners
