Jumpstart For Young Children seeks an experienced Director, Donor Impact for our Los Angeles County office serving the Del Valle Finance region. This full-time leadership position is central to advancing our mission of ensuring every child enters kindergarten prepared to succeed.
About the Role
As Director, Donor Impact, you will lead strategic fundraising and donor engagement initiatives that fuel Jumpstart's direct service work in early education. You'll cultivate relationships with foundations, major donors, and community partners while developing compelling narratives around our programs. This role bridges our program excellence with our funding strategy, ensuring that donor investments directly amplify impact for young children across California.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with Jumpstart's national priorities and California-specific needs
- Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with major donors, foundations, and institutional partners
- Lead design and execution of fundraising campaigns that communicate program outcomes and impact
- Collaborate with program leadership to measure, document, and communicate the results of our evidence-based curriculum work and direct service initiatives in early education
- Manage donor communications, including reports, presentations, and stewardship activities
- Build and lead a team focused on donor relations and impact reporting
- Represent Jumpstart in the community and at key stakeholder meetings
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated success in fundraising leadership with substantial experience managing major donors and campaigns
- Proven ability to develop and communicate program impact narratives that resonate with funders
- Understanding of early childhood education, nonprofit operations, or related social services
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence across stakeholder groups
- Experience managing comprehensive fundraising operations, including grants, individual giving, and foundation relations
- Ability to thrive in a mission-driven environment and lead high-performing teams
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field
