Patient Services Representative, Logan Family Clinic

About This Position

The Patient Services Representative role is critical to our clinic's daily operations. You'll manage patient interactions across multiple touchpoints—from initial contact through check-in, appointment scheduling, and follow-up communications. This position requires attention to detail, genuine compassion for patient needs, and the ability to multitask in a busy healthcare setting. Working on-site in Spokane, you'll be part of a collaborative team committed to delivering excellent patient experiences while supporting WSU's mission in primary care.

Your Responsibilities

• Answer phones and manage incoming inquiries from patients and external healthcare providers
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments using clinic management software
• Check patients in and out of appointments, collecting necessary information and insurance verification
• Maintain accurate, organized medical records and patient documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations
• Process insurance authorizations and pre-certifications
• Communicate with patients regarding appointment reminders, test results, and administrative matters
• Support clinical staff with administrative tasks to ensure smooth patient flow
• Handle patient inquiries professionally and escalate complex issues appropriately

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous customer service or healthcare administration experience preferred
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency with computers and basic office software; electronic health records (EHR) experience a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure in a busy environment
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare processes, or willingness to learn
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
