Patient Billing/Services Representative II – Orthopedic Surgery

Wustl is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Billing/Services Representative II to support our Orthopedic Surgery department in O'Fallon, MO. This is a full-time position where you'll manage patient accounts, process insurance claims, and provide exceptional service to our orthopedic patients.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify patient insurance information and coverage details
• Handle patient billing inquiries and resolve account discrepancies
• Submit and follow up on insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement
• Maintain accurate patient records and account documentation
• Communicate with patients regarding billing statements, payment options, and financial arrangements
• Coordinate with insurance companies and healthcare providers to address billing issues
• Respond to patient calls, emails, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Input and maintain patient data using medical billing software systems
• Assist with account collections and payment processing
• Support the billing team with administrative tasks and special projects

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
• Proven experience in patient billing, medical billing, or related healthcare administrative roles
• Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification and claims processing
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Professional demeanor with strong customer service orientation
• Familiarity with medical terminology and orthopedic procedures is a plus
