Compliance Officer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client in their search for a Compliance Officer to join their London team. Our client is experiencing significant growth and needs a driven, commercially aware professional to support their compliance function during this exciting expansion phase.

This is a broad, hands-on role offering genuine exposure across the business. You'll work directly with senior stakeholders and contribute meaningfully to how the organization manages risk, compliance, and regulatory change. Responsibilities

• Own and deliver compliance monitoring programs, identifying emerging risks, assessing customer impact, and driving practical, proportionate remediation
• Provide clear, actionable reporting by drafting high-quality updates for senior management and Board-level stakeholders
• Stay ahead of FCA regulatory developments and translate them into clear, business-relevant actions
• Maintain and strengthen the control environment by supporting review and continuous improvement of policies and frameworks
• Partner across the business, building strong relationships and acting as a trusted advisor on compliance matters
• Support customer outcomes by serving as an escalation point for complex cases including complaints and fraud risk
• Contribute to financial crime oversight, supporting AML assessments and advising the MLRO
• Work closely with the Chief Compliance Officer, providing input on regulatory risk, product development, and strategic initiatives

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in retail financial services, either within compliance, first line controls, or in an operational role with strong focus on customer outcomes
• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset – you identify issues and help fix them
• Working knowledge of relevant FCA Handbook requirements
• Practical understanding of Consumer Duty and what good customer outcomes look like
• Strong judgement and risk assessment skills
• Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
• Clear, confident communicator comfortable engaging up to executive level
• Strong written and numerical skills, including preparing Board-level materials
• Passion for getting things right and ensuring customer-first approaches
