Chief of Staff to CTO

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for a Chief of Staff to the CTO. Our client is a high-growth lending company leveraging advanced technology and data to deliver exceptional results at scale. As Chief of Staff to the CTO, you will serve as a strategic partner responsible for building the operating discipline and execution leverage required to scale a technology organization. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on execution, clarity, and accountability—ensuring the organization works on the right priorities, makes clear commitments, and delivers at pace.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution and delivery discipline across engineering teams, ensuring alignment to company priorities with clear commitments and realistic timelines
• Run the core operating rhythm of the technology organization, including planning cycles, delivery reviews, leadership forums, and executive reporting
• Create end-to-end visibility of the technology roadmap across product and central teams, providing clear insight into progress, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs
• Manage cross-team dependencies across engineering, product, risk, compliance, and commercial functions to ensure coordinated delivery
• Strengthen accountability, performance management, and leadership discipline while supporting hiring, onboarding, and organizational scaling
• Improve how central teams (Platform, FinOps, AI, Security, IT) support product teams through clear ownership and interfaces
• Reduce the CTO's coordination overhead, creating space for focus on technology strategy, architecture, and innovation
• Surface risks early and ensure fast, decisive resolution without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience scaling engineering or product organizations in high-growth environments
• Strong track record driving execution, delivery discipline, and operational clarity at scale
• Experience running planning cadences, portfolio visibility, and cross-team coordination
• Ability to work credibly with senior engineers and technology leaders
• Commercial mindset with understanding of how technology drives growth, customer outcomes, and risk management
• High standards, strong judgment, and a bias for action
• Structured yet pragmatic approach—demanding but focused on outcomes, able to raise performance without slowing teams down
