AI Governance (Senior) Consultant (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting organization seeking an AI Governance Consultant to join their team in München. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, regulatory compliance, and organizational governance. You will help clients navigate the evolving landscape of AI regulation and establish robust frameworks for responsible AI deployment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing governance models and identify optimization opportunities in AI contexts
• Design and implement policies, procedures, and frameworks to ensure robust AI governance
• Support clients nationally and internationally in establishing compliance and ethical standards for AI systems
• Coordinate the implementation of governance processes within AI projects and initiatives
• Assess regulatory requirements and derive practical measures to ensure compliance with applicable legal frameworks
• Document processes and prepare reports to continuously improve governance structures
• At senior level: Lead complex governance projects and assume strategic responsibility for implementing modern AI governance frameworks
• At senior level: Develop tailored governance strategies aligned with international compliance and ethical standards
• At senior level: Advise executives on regulatory risks and support preparation for the EU AI Act
• At senior level: Conduct or professionally accompany information security audits and support ISO management system development
• At senior level: Mentor junior consultants and foster knowledge transfer within the team

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed degree with relevant practical experience through internships or working student positions
• Passion for governance, risk, and compliance topics with solid theoretical foundation
• Basic understanding of how AI models function and interest in their governance and quality assurance
• High motivation to explore frameworks for safe AI use and interest in regulatory environments
• Basic knowledge of information security and ideally initial insights into audit processes
• Ability to understand complex requirements and translate them into practical measures
• Team-oriented approach with initiative and openness to feedback and continuous development
• Strong communication skills in both German and English
• At senior level: At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in consulting, auditing, or comparable role
• At senior level: Extensive experience in regulation, governance, or risk and compliance
• At senior level: Solid experience in cross-functional consulting on AI control processes and governance standards throughout the AI lifecycle
• At senior level: Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as NIS2, DORA, MaRisk, or the EU AI Act
• At senior level: Auditing experience in information security, ideally with ISO Lead Implementor or ISO Auditor certification
