About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization in Zweibrücken seeking a Production Engineer / Process Engineer specializing in welding technology and robotics. Our talent team is looking for an experienced professional to lead automation initiatives and drive continuous improvement in welding operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional projects in welding technology and robotics, including tender documentation, feasibility studies, and vendor selection
• Develop programs and programming routines for existing and future robotic welding systems
• Train and onboard staff on robotic equipment and programming techniques
• Contribute to investment planning as part of mid-term management strategies
• Review models and drawings for automated welding feasibility
• Design and procure capital equipment including robots and automated systems
• Support design engineering with automation-oriented product development and analyze manufacturing challenges
• Serve as technical point of contact for production welding issues
• Conduct launch training for new projects in manufacturing
• Lead problem-solving processes and coordinate corrective actions across departments
• Develop value stream maps to optimize material and information flow
• Implement measures for productivity improvement and quality optimization, including robotics enhancement
• Perform economic analysis, capacity planning, and utilization calculations
• Monitor and create key performance indicators
• Plan and facilitate efficiency improvement workshops
• Evaluate and implement continuous improvement suggestions

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Industrial Engineering (4-year program)
• Several years of professional experience in a comparable role
• Advanced skills in programming industrial robots, ideally across multiple platforms (Cloos, Yaskawa, etc.)
• Proficiency with SAP, MS Office, CAD software, and Lean methodologies
• Welding engineer certification is advantageous
• Good command of English, both written and spoken
• Solution-oriented working style and strong team collaboration skills
• Willingness to travel as needed
