Role Overview

As a New College Grad SSD Firmware Engineer at Sandisk, you'll be at the core of storage innovation, writing and testing firmware that drives the performance and reliability of solid-state drives. This entry-level role pairs hands-on development work with mentorship from experienced engineers, giving you direct exposure to real product development. You'll collaborate across hardware, software, and test teams to bring cutting-edge SSD technologies to market while building the expertise that defines your early engineering career.

Responsibilities

• Develop, debug, and optimize firmware code for SSD controllers and subsystems
• Write and execute test cases to validate firmware functionality and identify defects
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to troubleshoot firmware-hardware interactions
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
• Document firmware behavior, test results, and technical findings
• Support manufacturing and production validation of firmware releases
• Investigate performance issues and implement improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Strong proficiency in C or C++ programming
• Solid understanding of computer architecture and operating systems concepts
• Experience with embedded systems through coursework, internships, or personal projects
• Familiarity with debugging tools and version control systems
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
