Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition – Frankfurt, Germany

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company in their search for a Software Engineer focused on Data Infrastructure and Acquisition. This Frankfurt-based role sits at the intersection of large-scale data engineering and machine learning infrastructure, supporting petabyte-scale dataset operations that power next-generation AI models.

Our client operates in a fully distributed environment with team members across the globe. You'll join a data-focused team responsible for the complete lifecycle of audio data collection, from discovery and acquisition through processing and delivery to research teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and integrate new audio data sources into existing ingestion pipelines
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for data ingestion, working primarily with GCP and Terraform
• Collaborate with research scientists to optimize the cost, throughput, and quality balance of data operations
• Deliver richer datasets at increasing scale while reducing operational costs
• Partner with AI leadership to shape the dataset roadmap that will power future product development
• Build and maintain large-scale data processing workflows

What We're Looking For

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency with bash and Python scripting in Linux environments
• Professional experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP preferred)
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a significant plus
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for asynchronous collaboration
• Authorized to work in Germany
