Responsibilities
Our talent team is representing a confidential defense technology organization based in Berlin. This working student role focuses on flight software engineering, supporting the autopilot and PX4 stack for unmanned aerial systems.
You will work hands-on with the software that controls aircraft flight operations, contributing to the autopilot layer that underpins critical system capabilities. Your work will include:
- Supporting development and testing of autopilot software, including configuration and log analysis
- Writing and maintaining Python tooling for test automation, data processing, and flight-log analysis
- Reproducing, isolating, and documenting software issues identified in simulation and flight testing
- Processing and visualizing flight and telemetry data to support engineering analysis
- Bridging the feedback loop between test results and software iterations
- Maintaining clean, reusable tooling, scripts, and documentation
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace, or a comparable technical field
- Hands-on experience with Python, ideally including data processing or automation work
- Familiarity with PX4, ArduPilot, or comparable autopilot and flight control systems
- Must be a citizen of a NATO member state due to export control and security regulations
- Available 20 hours per week during the semester, with flexibility around your studies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus
