Senior Data Engineer (m/w/d) – Snowflake

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential mobility-tech organization seeking a Senior Data Engineer to take technical ownership of their evolving data landscape. In this role, you will architect and scale business-critical data systems that drive decision-making across the organization.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Taking technical ownership of the Snowflake-based data platform and driving its strategic evolution
• Designing, implementing, and optimizing performant, stable data pipelines that support critical business processes
• Developing scalable data architectures including data lakes and warehouses with a focus on maintainability
• Defining and establishing company-wide standards for data quality, modeling, and architectural governance
• Serving as the technical interface between data teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear prioritization and execution
• Conducting code reviews, coaching team members, and enabling technical growth across the data engineering function
• Evaluating and implementing new technologies to continuously advance the data platform
• Managing ETL/ELT processes and ensuring efficient handling of large-scale data volumes

What We're Looking For

Our client needs a seasoned data engineer with deep technical expertise and a strong quality mindset:

• Proven experience in data engineering with strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern data platforms, particularly Snowflake
• Demonstrated success building and operating ETL/ELT pipelines at scale
• Solid understanding of scalable data architectures including data lakes and warehouses, with experience in dimensional modeling
• Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster
• Cloud platform experience, ideally with Azure (particularly in BI/Power BI contexts) and familiarity with AWS environments
• A strong commitment to building clean, stable, and maintainable data solutions
• Structured, independent working style with high quality standards
• Very good German and good English language skills
• Flexibility to work remotely or on-site in München as needed
