Lead Analytics Engineer, Borrowing

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer to join their borrowing products division. This is a senior-level role working on data architecture and analytics engineering for lending operations. The position is based in Cardiff with remote options across the UK.

Our client operates at the intersection of consumer banking and technology, building data infrastructure that supports critical financial products. You'll be working on foundational data platforms that enable product scaling, regulatory compliance, and customer-facing features.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable data models for borrowing product performance measurement and analytics
• Build robust data models in BigQuery downstream of backend services to support reporting, machine learning, and regulatory requirements
• Establish and maintain best practices for data warehouse operations including payload design, logical modeling, metadata standards, and testing protocols
• Lead data governance initiatives ensuring data integrity and compliance across the borrowing domain
• Champion platform initiatives that elevate data standards across multiple teams and functions
• Shape technical roadmaps for an entire data domain and execute against deliverables
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set data standards and foster knowledge sharing
• Enable data scientists, analytics engineers, and credit analysts through expertise sharing on data architecture

What We're Looking For

• Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL projects, and Big Data technologies
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and data warehousing concepts—these should be second nature to you
• Experience working with diverse data streams including financial, transactional, and operational systems
• Proven track record building reliable, high-control data sets at scale
• Strategic thinking about credit products and how data models unlock insights and customer value
• Ability to shape ambiguous data domains and secure buy-in from senior stakeholders
• Experience managing technical roadmaps and delivering against complex project plans
• Leadership through influence—leveraging multiplier effects to create exponential value
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences (backend engineers, product managers, credit analysts, senior leaders)
• Passion for continuous improvement and proactively identifying opportunities
• Comfort working in fast-moving, cross-functional environments

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £97,800 - £125,000

Additional context: This role offers flexible working hours, remote work options within the UK, visa sponsorship availability, a £1,000 annual learning budget, and relocation assistance to the UK if needed.
