About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential social science research organization in Mannheim, Germany. Our client seeks a student assistant to support their survey methodology and data quality teams with research, administrative, and communication tasks.

This is a part-time position starting at 20 hours per month with the possibility to increase to 40 hours per month. The role is ideal for students pursuing degrees in sociology, political science, psychology, or related social science fields who want hands-on experience in a research environment.

Responsibilities

• Support survey design and evaluation research activities, including preparation of publications and presentations
• Assist with formatting and publishing survey methodology guides in Word
• Manage literature databases using reference management software and create linkages with published guides
• Provide logistical support for workshops, events, and meetings related to data quality research projects, including travel planning and expense processing
• Support project communication, marketing, and social media activities
• Maintain websites, newsletters, and informational materials for data quality initiatives
• Handle general administrative project tasks and organization

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a social science degree program (sociology, political science, psychology, or similar field)
• Very strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, or willingness to develop these skills quickly
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
• High degree of reliability and attention to detail
• Knowledge of social science research methods and analysis software is advantageous
• Interest in survey methodology and data quality research
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
