Staff Nurse-Oncology Infusion Clinic Full-time Days

This full-time, day-shift position offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, specialized care to patients receiving chemotherapy and other infusion therapies in a supportive clinical environment.

Role Overview

As a Staff Nurse in our Oncology Infusion Clinic, you'll deliver direct patient care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment, managing infusion protocols, monitoring vital signs, and providing education and emotional support during a significant phase of their healthcare journey. You'll work closely with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, evidence-based care that prioritizes patient comfort and clinical outcomes. This position operates on day shift hours, providing continuity of care across morning and afternoon patient appointments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusions according to established protocols and physician orders
• Assess and monitor patients for adverse reactions, side effects, and clinical changes throughout treatment
• Maintain detailed documentation of patient responses, medication administration, and nursing interventions
• Place and maintain peripheral and central venous access devices, ensuring sterile technique and site integrity
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, potential side effects, self-care strategies, and symptom management
• Collaborate with the oncology team to coordinate care, address patient concerns, and adjust interventions as needed
• Ensure a safe, clean clinical environment and manage infection control and safety protocols

What You Bring

• Current RN licensure in Illinois and active, unrestricted nursing license
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in oncology nursing or acute care settings
• Strong knowledge of chemotherapy safety, infusion protocols, and cancer care principles
• Excellent assessment, communication, and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing collaboratively to team-based care
• Compassion, resilience, and ability to provide emotional support to patients facing serious illness
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems
