Northwestern Memorial Healthcare seeks a compassionate, full-time Breast Health Navigator for our Breast Surgery program at our Winfield, IL facility. In this role, you'll become a trusted guide for patients navigating breast health decisions and surgical care.

About the Role

The Breast Health Navigator plays a vital role in the patient experience at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare's Winfield location. Working within our Breast Surgery department, you'll support patients and families by providing clear information, coordinated care, and emotional support throughout the surgical journey. This position requires a compassionate professional who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment while advocating for patient needs at every stage of treatment.

Your Responsibilities

• Educate patients about breast surgery procedures, treatment options, risks, and recovery timelines
• Schedule appointments and coordinate care between Breast Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, and ancillary services
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative support and answer patient questions
• Connect patients with educational resources, support groups, and community services
• Document patient interactions and maintain communication records in electronic health systems
• Offer emotional support and advocacy during medical decision-making
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary surgical teams to ensure comprehensive patient care

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work with patients in sensitive, complex healthcare situations
• Proficiency with electronic health records and scheduling software
• Excellent organizational and time-management capabilities
• Patient-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in healthcare, patient services, or related field preferred
