Registered Nurse Interventional Radiology Outpatient Full time

Northwestern Memorial Healthcare seeks a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Interventional Radiology team in Winfield, IL. As a full-time IR nurse, you'll deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients throughout minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Role Overview

This Registered Nurse position focuses on clinical support and patient care within our Interventional Radiology department. You'll work in a dynamic outpatient setting, preparing patients for procedures, monitoring vital signs, providing post-procedure care, and collaborating with radiologists and the broader clinical team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-procedure assessments, including patient history, allergies, current medications, and procedure-specific preparation
• Monitor and record patient vital signs, oxygen saturation, and clinical response throughout procedures
• Assist the interventional radiology team with equipment, supplies, and procedural support
• Provide post-procedure education, discharge instructions, and appropriate follow-up care guidance
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Ensure infection prevention and safety protocols are followed in the IR suite
• Respond to patient concerns and questions with professionalism and clinical expertise

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, procedure-based environment
• Attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to patient safety
• Experience in acute care or perioperative nursing is valued
