Staff Nurse- Oncology Infusion Clinic Part-time Days

About the Role

As a Staff Nurse in our Oncology Infusion Clinic, you'll play a vital role in patients' cancer treatment journeys. You'll administer chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and supportive infusions under established protocols while building trusting relationships with patients during vulnerable times. This part-time position operates during daytime hours, offering schedule flexibility while serving a critical clinical need at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare's Huntley location.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other prescribed infusions following established protocols and safety guidelines
• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion therapy; monitor vital signs and respond to adverse reactions
• Insert peripheral lines and manage central lines according to clinical standards
• Educate patients and families about treatment side effects, self-care, and symptom management
• Maintain accurate, detailed clinical documentation in electronic health records
• Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Uphold infection control and safety standards in the clinic environment

Who We're Looking For

• Active RN license in Illinois
• Demonstrated experience in infusion therapy, oncology nursing, or acute care settings
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Proficiency in peripheral and central line management
• Excellent communication and patient-centered care approach
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
• Commitment to evidence-based nursing practice and patient safety
