Care Assistant (Evenings)

Join Home Instead as a Care Assistant (Evenings) in our remote-based team serving Ashford, England. We're looking for a compassionate, reliable full-time evening care professional ready to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

Position Summary

This is a full-time evening shift position supporting vulnerable adults and elderly clients in need of personal care and companionship. As an evening care assistant, you'll provide essential support during vulnerable hours, building trust with clients and their families whilst working flexibly as part of Home Instead's dedicated care network across Ashford and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver dignified personal care including hygiene, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance
• Prepare meals and support with eating and drinking as needed
• Provide emotional support and companionship, engaging in meaningful conversation and activities
• Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and tidying to maintain a safe, comfortable home environment
• Communicate clearly with clients, families, and the care team regarding wellbeing and any concerns
• Follow care plans and safeguarding protocols to ensure client safety and privacy
• Respond compassionately to clients' needs, building trust and confidence in the care you provide

Skills & Qualifications

• Genuine compassion and patience with vulnerable and elderly people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and handle sensitive situations with respect
• Reliability, punctuality, and commitment to shift-based evening work
• Basic understanding of safeguarding, health and safety principles
• Physical capability to assist with personal care tasks safely
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and qualifications such as NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care
