Role Overview

As a Care Assistant with Home Instead, you'll provide personalised support to older adults and vulnerable individuals, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life in their own homes. Working on day shifts, you'll build meaningful relationships with the people you support, offering both practical assistance and genuine companionship. This remote-first role combines direct client interaction with flexible working, allowing you to balance professional development with genuine care work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-time personal care and support, including assistance with daily living activities
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, ensuring their wellbeing and independence
• Assist with household tasks, meal preparation, and light cleaning as appropriate
• Support clients with mobility, medication reminders, and healthcare coordination
• Maintain detailed, accurate records and communicate progress with the Home Instead care team
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold safeguarding standards in all client interactions
• Respond flexibly to client needs and adapt your approach to individual preferences

What We're Looking For

• A compassionate, patient approach to care work with genuine empathy for older adults
• Previous experience in care, support work, or a related field (training provided for suitable candidates)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A commitment to safeguarding and maintaining professional boundaries
• Willingness to undertake training, including First Aid and relevant health and safety certification
• UK driving licence and reliable transport are advantageous
