Sr Project Developer (Solar PV, BESS and Distr Energy Resources)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the energy infrastructure sector seeking a Senior Project Developer to lead distributed energy resource opportunities across the United States. This is a sales and commission-based role focused on originating and advancing solar PV, battery energy storage, microgrid, and other clean energy projects from initial engagement through execution handoff.

Our talent team is supporting this search for a commercial leader who can combine technical feasibility assessment with financial modeling, regulatory navigation, and stakeholder management to deliver projects that meet investment criteria and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Originate, qualify, and structure solar PV, BESS, microgrid, combined heat and power, central utility plant, and distributed energy resource projects
• Lead complex energy infrastructure opportunities from customer engagement through feasibility, investment approval, contracting, and notice to proceed
• Conduct technical, financial, and regulatory analysis to ensure projects are feasible, financially attractive, and executable
• Develop customer relationships across commercial and industrial clients, utilities, public-sector entities, federal agencies, data centers, healthcare systems, universities, municipalities, and institutional clients
• Navigate project development lifecycle including site assessment, permitting, interconnection, financing structures, and contractual negotiations
• Transition approved projects to execution teams with complete documentation and stakeholder alignment

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in project development for solar PV, battery energy storage systems, microgrids, or distributed energy resources
• Strong commercial and sales capabilities with track record of originating and closing complex energy infrastructure deals
• Technical expertise in renewable energy systems, energy storage technologies, and distributed generation
• Financial acumen including project finance, investment analysis, and deal structuring for capital-intensive projects
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, utility interconnection processes, incentive programs, and permitting requirements
• Experience working with diverse customer segments including commercial, industrial, institutional, and public-sector clients
• Ability to manage multiple complex opportunities simultaneously from pipeline through contract execution
• Willingness to travel across the United States to support customer engagement and project development activities
