Start-up Team Manager (STM) – FSP

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential clinical research organization seeking a Start-up Team Manager (STM) - FSP to join their remote team in the United States. Our client operates in the clinical trials space, supporting pharmaceutical and biotech companies in bringing new treatments to market.

In this role, you will manage complex site operations across multiple clinical studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and facilitating smooth collaboration between trial sites and internal teams. You will oversee site activation timelines, coordinate cross-functional teams in a matrix environment, and drive the success of clinical research projects from feasibility through site readiness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee site activation for assigned clinical trial projects according to timelines and quality standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment to ensure effective delivery of site activation
• Coordinate information flow between project teams, clients, and functional departments involved in site activation
• Develop implementation plans and guidelines using established project management tools and methodologies
• Monitor and analyze project status, providing metrics to management and ensuring successful completion of deliverables
• Perform risk identification and develop contingency planning strategies
• Manage financial and contractual aspects of studies related to site activation, ensuring alignment with budgets
• Administer technical and operational aspects including feasibility coordination, site contracts, and country team management
• Identify and evaluate issues pertaining to successful site activation and implement appropriate solutions
• Develop and maintain customer relationships aligned with assigned projects
• Travel occasionally (up to 20%) to site locations, both domestic and international

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal academic/vocational qualification
• 5+ years of relevant experience in clinical research operations, project management, or site management
• Strong knowledge of cross-functional project management principles and clinical development guidelines
• Comprehensive understanding of clinical research/development, including medical terminology, therapeutic areas, and trial phases
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and work efficiently with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to identify and remedy risks related to contractual deliverables and provide appropriate solutions
• Cross-cultural awareness with ability to adapt communication and working styles appropriately
• Proficiency with computer software and project management tools
• Ability to work under stress, multi-task, and perform in conditions with variable demands and changing priorities
• Physical ability to work in an office/clinical environment for extended periods, with occasional lifting up to 15-20 lbs
