About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global SaaS organization in their search for a Senior Director, Controller to lead their worldwide accounting operations. This is a fully remote position based in the United Kingdom, reporting directly to the CFO.

Our client is seeking a strategic finance leader who will transform their global accounting function into a forward-thinking center of excellence. You'll oversee statutory reporting, audit, payroll, treasury, compliance, and tax operations across multiple geographies, while building high-performing teams and driving process innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to the global accounting function, developing organizational capacity models to support long-term business growth
  • Direct end-to-end accounting strategy across statutory reporting, audit, payroll, treasury, compliance, and tax operations
  • Partner with executive leadership to establish robust corporate governance frameworks and streamline global controls
  • Oversee external and internal financial audit engagements to maintain reporting integrity and clean audit outcomes
  • Deliver timely, data-informed financial insights and board-level reporting to support strategic decision-making
  • Lead M&A integration across regional finance operations, banking networks, and enterprise system architectures
  • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives that modernize processes through automation and modern finance tools
  • Build and mentor high-performing, distributed finance teams through structured development pathways
  • Champion global compliance strategy, standardizing policies and internal controls across diverse markets
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and AI tools to drive operational efficiencies
  • Manage global departmental budgets, maximizing ROI on finance investments

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including cultivating global teams with specific US business operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent professional credential
  • Proven track record in finance system modernization, automation, and agile operational transformation
  • Deep expertise in US/Global GAAP and ASC revenue recognition across multi-jurisdiction environments
  • Strong working knowledge of US domestic and international tax accounting principles
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deliver high-impact outcomes across complex priorities under tight timelines
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex financial concepts for executive and non-technical audiences
  • Sharp business acumen to partner with operational leaders and influence strategic decisions
  • Proven success leading, mentoring, and inspiring remote and distributed finance teams
