Senior Tracking Specialist (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential e-commerce client seeking a Senior Tracking Specialist to take end-to-end ownership of their tracking infrastructure. This is a remote-first role based in Germany, reporting to the Head of Data within their Data Intelligence Unit.

Our client operates across multiple European markets and needs someone who can restore confidence in their data, establish robust governance, and build a reliable measurement framework that empowers marketing, product, and analytics teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the entire tracking stack end-to-end across GA4, server-side GTM, Amplitude, and marketing platforms—including auditing, stabilization, and consent management implementation
• Build tracking governance from the ground up: event definitions, naming conventions, tracking plans, and change logs to replace the current agency-led setup with scalable internal ownership
• Roll out and enable Amplitude as the product analytics platform, helping teams define reliable OKR metrics and launch new features with clean tracking
• Develop automated tracking monitoring to detect data quality issues and outages early, translating technical findings into clear business impact for marketing, product, and engineering stakeholders
• Serve as the central tracking function connecting data analytics with marketing, product, and portfolio teams

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Multiple years of hands-on experience with GA4 and GTM (both client-side and server-side), ideally in a high-growth e-commerce environment with complex purchase funnels
• Deep expertise in tracking plan development, GDPR/consent management, and debugging attribution and conversion setups across multiple marketing channels
• Professional English proficiency
• Tech stack familiarity: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Amplitude, Google Ads, Meta/TikTok/Pinterest ads tracking, and BigQuery

Preferred:

• Experience managing external agency relationships and tracking SLAs

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is €69,800 to €94,400.
