Senior Software QA Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential medical technology organization in London that is developing advanced neuromonitoring solutions. Our client requires a Senior Software QA Engineer to join their team working on safety-critical medical device software. This role operates on a hybrid schedule with four days per week on-site in Kings Cross and one flexible remote day.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement compliance-as-code workflows that automatically generate verification evidence mapped to regulatory standards
• Develop and own comprehensive test plans, protocols, and execution reports for medical device software
• Lead formal software verification and validation activities, ensuring adherence to IEC 62304 (Class C) and ISO 14971 standards
• Drive test automation initiatives, CI/CD pipeline improvements, and evaluate emerging testing techniques including LLM-assisted quality gates
• Collaborate with systems engineers to test multi-tasking systems and signal-processing applications on physical hardware
• Contribute throughout the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), focusing on software and integration testing for both products and internal tools

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing, particularly within complex or safety-critical systems
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Proven experience working in highly regulated industries; medical device development experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise with CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, and build systems
• Solid practical experience implementing Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies
• Understanding of medical device regulatory requirements and verification/validation processes
