Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential observability platform company seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Backend for their teams in Bordeaux or Paris. In this role, you will:
- Solve scaling bottlenecks in critical services operating at high data volume
- Deploy new features to production using progressive rollout strategies and feature flags
- Investigate and resolve production issues for services owned by your team
- Design scalable architectures to handle increasing traffic demands
- Collaborate with your team to plan and prioritize the most impactful projects
What We're Looking For
Our client needs an experienced backend engineer who brings:
- Significant professional experience in one or more programming languages
- Strong focus on code simplicity and performance optimization
- Proven ability to design architecture solutions for high-scale systems
- BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent practical experience
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows
- Experience building, validating, and refining AI-generated output in production systems
- Ability to design AI-enabled backend systems with awareness of quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs
- Bonus: Motivation to push boundaries on how AI can improve software engineering practices
This is a hybrid position based in Bordeaux or Paris, France.
