Data Scientist Manager

About the Role

Our talent team is representing a confidential data and AI consultancy with a strong presence across Europe. We are seeking a Data Scientist Manager to join their Paris office in the 9th arrondissement. This is an exciting opportunity to lead end-to-end AI projects while managing and mentoring a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Lead client projects from initial use case framing through to production implementation of AI solutions that deliver measurable business impact
• Promote software engineering and MLOps best practices to ensure scalable, production-ready solutions
• Challenge business requirements, validate data availability, and select appropriate methodologies and technical architectures
• Serve as the technical reference for clients, explaining AI approaches clearly and providing recommendations on feasibility, risks, and ROI
• Build trusted relationships with C-level executives and operational teams
• Manage the data science team, including staffing decisions, mentoring, coaching, and career development
• Contribute to testing and implementing advanced AI techniques on client projects
• Drive initiatives to build reusable internal accelerators, modules, and tools
• Maintain active technology watch on emerging frameworks, tools, and cloud services
• Lead by example with technical rigor and pragmatic problem-solving
• Foster collaboration between data scientists, data engineers, and business teams to ensure effective solution adoption

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing data-driven solutions
• Strong knowledge in applied machine learning and generative AI
• Solid understanding of software engineering and MLOps best practices
• Experience with industrializing AI workflows in cloud environments
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and deliver impactful projects in a business context
• Intellectual curiosity and excellent problem-solving skills
• Pragmatic and creative approach to tackling challenges
• Track record of mentoring junior team members and constructively challenging senior colleagues
• Ability to earn trust from both technical peers and business stakeholders
