Senior Software Engineer – Action Platform

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential observability platform organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Action Platform team in Paris. In this technical leadership role, you will help architect and build one of the core execution layers behind their action-taking and remediation capabilities. This system enables products and AI agents to securely run actions inside customer infrastructure with robust controls for authentication, permissions, auditing, and safe execution.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Solving scaling bottlenecks in critical services
• Deploying new features to production with progressive rollouts using feature flags
• Investigating and resolving production issues from services your team owns
• Designing solutions to scale services for increased traffic
• Planning and prioritizing the most important projects with your team
• Mentoring and leading a small team of 3 engineers

This is a hands-on role covering architecture, implementation, reliability, and collaboration with teams integrating this platform across the organization. The position offers leadership exposure and is expected to quickly transition into a formal Engineering Manager 1 role as the team grows.

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking a strong technical leader who combines deep engineering expertise with emerging leadership abilities:

• Significant experience in one or more programming languages
• Strong commitment to code simplicity and performance
• Proven ability to design architecture for high-scale problems
• BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
• Comfort working in a fast, high-growth environment
• Excitement about leveraging AI tools to enhance coding, problem-solving, and building—or eagerness to learn
• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and build, validate, and refine AI-generated output
• Experience designing AI backend systems with awareness of quality, cost, and latency tradeoffs
• Willingness to lead and support a small group of engineers

Bonus qualifications:

• Previous experience mentoring or leading small teams as a tech lead or team lead
• Motivation to push the boundaries of how AI can improve software engineering best practices and contribute to building AI-enabled products
