Senior Customer Lead National Security (London)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential innovation consultancy serving the national security sector. In this Senior Customer Lead role based in London, you will:

• Serve as the primary account lead for national security clients in London and the surrounding region, managing relationships from initial prospecting through proposal development, contract negotiation, and project delivery
• Maintain a highly visible presence with existing clients to strengthen partnerships and build brand reputation throughout the client engagement lifecycle
• Drive new business development within the existing customer base, leading campaigns to diversify revenue streams across multiple client business units and securing high-value, multi-year contracts
• Expand partnerships with national security sector suppliers to create new revenue opportunities and market channels
• Collaborate with the broader national security and defence team to develop, refine, and market new service propositions that meet evolving customer requirements
• Provide expert insights into customer needs and procurement trends to inform team strategy and support strategic campaigns across client delivery
• Contribute to the evolution and maturation of go-to-market processes and business development functions

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Proven track record of selling and winning new business in the national security sector, with demonstrable proposition development capabilities
• Direct experience working with national security clients located in London, including both client delivery and relationship-based sales
• Valid SC clearance (essential); DV clearance preferred; national security sponsorship preferred
• Experience working with partners to shape and deliver consortium bids and strategic opportunities
• Strong understanding of national security sector procurement and commercial processes
• Strong commercial acumen including opportunity shaping, negotiation, and deal strategy
• Ability to operate effectively across strategy, relationship management, and hands-on opportunity delivery
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport, build strong client relationships, and align solutions to client needs
• Strategic thinking capability to understand long-term trends and develop credible propositions
• Collaborative approach with a bias toward supporting and enabling broader teams
• Ability to operate autonomously as an individual contributor while working effectively within a team environment

Desirable experience:

• Background in technology adoption, innovation ecosystems, or organisational change within government, particularly national security
• Demonstrable success securing and growing contracts valued at £1 million or more and/or multi-year engagements

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £80,000 - £100,000 depending on skills and experience. Additional benefits include annual bonus scheme, generous pension with up to 10% company contribution, private healthcare, life assurance, critical illness cover, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and volunteering day.
