Senior Rust Developer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential enterprise software client seeking a Senior Rust Developer based in Berlin. In this role, you will:

• Build new products and features within a distributed platform environment
• Develop new code primarily in Rust, while maintaining and working with existing Go and Ruby codebases
• Create proof-of-concept solutions in emerging technical areas, then drive them to production or make strategic decisions to pivot
• Work with globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones

What We're Looking For

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong experience writing, shipping, and maintaining Rust code (2+ years required)
• Experience with other programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Go, JavaScript, or Java
• Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multiprocessing, and memory management
• Proven experience developing high-performance asynchronous applications with Rust (tokio experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of network protocols and networking stacks
• Good understanding of database technologies, including both traditional relational databases and modern NoSQL solutions
• Basic knowledge of DevOps practices and tooling
• Understanding of Linux environments

Valued Additional Experience:

• Golang or Ruby knowledge
• Experience working with WebAssembly (WASM)
• Open source contributions
