About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential EdTech organization seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the learner experience on their platform. This role sits at the intersection of consumer habit-formation and enterprise delivery—you'll be building software that teaches people what they need to know, in the few minutes they actually have, and measuring whether it worked.
The core challenge: move weekly active learners from approximately one percent to a number that makes the product indispensable. You'll transform a browsable catalog into an intelligent system that pays attention—personalizing by country, industry, company, department, and ultimately the individual. A fifteen-minute bus ride might become seven minutes of audio and three quick questions, assembled for that specific person on that specific day.
This is the most visible product role in the organization. Everything else depends on someone coming back on a Tuesday.
Responsibilities
- Own the learner surface end to end: onboarding, content routing, delivery mechanisms, and learning signals from user behavior
- Drive personalization across the spectrum—from broad segments (country, industry, company size) down to the individual user, their device, and their available time
- Partner with educational designers to compose research-backed micro-activities (two to eight minutes each) into coherent learning paths for individuals
- Own weekly active learners as your primary metric—set targets with leadership and deliver the roadmap to hit them
- Treat mobile as a first-class experience, not a port; decide whether native or lightweight approaches best serve seven-minute learning sessions attached to real schedules
- Manage routing across a unified content library: studio-produced material, customer-created content, and dynamically generated resources
- Build new capabilities while maintaining a platform with revenue-generating legacy—sequence delivery so both coexist productively
- Execute a leadership-set integration already on the roadmap when you arrive; deliver it well rather than re-litigate it
- Work in the open: share drafts early, make your thinking visible, and prioritize being corrected on Tuesday over being right on Friday
What We're Looking For
- Track record owning either a B2B2C product (where buyer and user differ, and the user didn't choose you) or a consumer habit-formation product built to create usage rather than meet existing demand
- Shipped personalization, routing, or recommendation systems that measurably changed behavior—and learned from the attempts that didn't
- Comfort building on platforms with real history; you understand that the new thing is built while the old thing still earns revenue, and sequencing that is craft, not obstacle
- Decisive approach: you gather input properly, take the call, and articulate clearly what you're not doing and why
- Habit of working transparently with early drafts and visible thinking
- Genuine interest in how people learn—you don't need formal training, but you'll work closely with career learning researchers
- Comfortable partnering with an embedded engineering manager rather than managing engineers directly
- Fluent in English; German is a plus for Berlin-based collaboration
This role is not for you if:
- You want a clean greenfield build
- You need the strategy finished before you start—it's being written now, and you'd help write it
- You expect to set every priority yourself from day one
- You'd rather own a feature area than a measurable outcome
