TYPO3 Developer – Senior & Mid-Level (w/m/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential communications agency in Dresden, Germany, seeking experienced TYPO3 Developers at both senior and mid-level. Our client operates a digital experience unit specializing in complex platforms, data portals, and enterprise websites for clients across business, government, and media sectors.

This role offers the chance to work on technically sophisticated projects from pitch through delivery, translating complex requirements into scalable, user-centered digital solutions. You'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on large-scale platforms and demanding service applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical implementation of digital projects using TYPO3 from conception through launch
• Translate complex client requirements into technical feasibility assessments and solution architectures
• Advise project managers on technical alternatives and implementation strategies
• Develop and maintain large-scale platforms, websites, and digital service solutions
• Build custom TYPO3 extensions using Composer structure
• Configure and integrate external APIs and services (REST, JSON, XML)
• Ensure barrier-free, strategically sound, and user-centered implementations
• Maintain high standards for testing, documentation, and code quality within complex projects
• Work within agile frameworks (Scrum or Kanban) in collaborative team environments

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent vocational training with relevant professional experience
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience delivering digital projects in an agency environment within interdisciplinary teams
• Expert-level knowledge of TYPO3 and its frameworks (Extbase, Fluid, TypoScript)
• Strong foundation in PHP and object-oriented programming (Clean Code principles, OOP)
• Proficiency with Git branching strategies (GitFlow, GithubFlow, Trunk-Based)
• Experience with Docker, DDEV, and PhpStorm
• Working knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL)
• Demonstrated ability in extension development and architecture of custom TYPO3 extensions
• Experience configuring interfaces and connecting external APIs and services (including Apache Solr)
• Business acumen, strong communication skills, and attention to detail
• Practical experience with agile methodologies
• Team spirit, reliability, and enthusiasm for continuous learning
• German language proficiency required for this position
